AI4IA at SETN 2026: Data Labs for AI Factories and a chaired session on AI Applications
From 9 to 11 September 2026, the Technical University of Crete in Chania hosted SETN 2026, the Hellenic Conference on Artificial Intelligence organised under the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society (EETN). The AI4IA group took part with a paper and by chairing a session.
Our paper: Data Labs as the Operational Data Front-End of AI Factories Denia Kanellopoulou presented the paper “Data Labs as the Operational Data Front-End of AI Factories: Architecture, Governance, and a Federated Blueprint”, co-authored with Konstantinos Liakos and Konstantinos Stamatakis. It looks at how Data Labs can serve as the operational data front-end of AI Factories. It covers the architecture, the governance arrangements and a federated blueprint. The paper was presented in the Main Auditorium on Thursday 10 September and as a poster. The poster sessions led to useful conversations with researchers and practitioners about how data infrastructure and governance shape AI adoption in practice.
Chairing Session 3.3: AI Applications On Friday 11 September, Denia chaired a session on AI Applications, which brought together three contributions: • Many-objective optimisation of injection molding with NSGA-II and NSGA-III and surrogate models • A cross-paradigm analysis of when conformalization helps in probabilistic electricity price forecasting • DrDino, text-guided region localisation and segmentation for 2D medical imaging The papers covered manufacturing, energy and healthcare, which fits our focus on AI that works in real settings.
SETN gave us a chance to share our work on AI Factories and data governance with the Greek AI research community, and stay up-to-date with recent AI developments by researchers and practitioners communities. We thank the organisers at the Technical University of Crete and EETN for a well-run conference, and everyone who participated and exchanged valuable feedback.
