Innovation and strategic vision drive the future of Greece's AI Factory, 'Pharos,' with Dr. Denia Kanellopoulou leading the way in shaping its direction. A tenured researcher at the Institute of Informatics & Telecommunications at NCSR Demokritos , Kanellopoulou specializes in digital (AI) innovation and brings her expertise in strategic management to the implementation of the Flagship Program 4 of the Blueprint for Greece's AI Transformation.

Blending diverse skills and knowledge has been central to Kanellopoulou's career, especially following her recent leadership appointments. As a national representative at the European Artificial Intelligence Board and its AI innovation ecosystem sub-group, she actively supports the adoption of trustworthy AI across Europe. She also co-founded the ahedd Digital Innovation Hub S.A. , now a spin-off of 'Demokritos', which serves as a one-stop shop for digital transformation solutions. 'ahedd was established as the first attempt to bridge the gap between research and market. We aimed to connect these two worlds and provide solutions tailored to businesses and society,' Kanellopoulou explains. By collaborating with hundreds of SMEs and organizations over the years, she has played a key role in integrating business and entrepreneurship with research, offering insights into AI adoption, challenges, and market dynamics.
