ODYCEO-Engineering the World Summit NTUA
On April 28–30, 2026, Athens Technopolis became the epicenter of technology and entrepreneurship, hosting Engineering the World, the flagship three-day conference organized by ODYCEO. Engineers, students, startup founders, investors, and corporate innovation teams all came together in one place. The theme of this year's event was Data Scarcity, powered by Metlen Energy & Metals.
With over 500 attendees, more than 15 speakers, and more than 10 sessions spread across three days, the event combined a hackathon, workshops, and panel discussions, where participants not only learned about emerging trends but also worked hands-on to design solutions aligned with real-world problems and market needs.
At the core of the experience was the Hackathon, an innovation challenge where interdisciplinary teams built solutions to real-world problems, collaborating across engineering, design, and business to develop functional prototypes. Teams refined their ideas with mentorship, and presented their work to a panel of investors, founders, and industry leaders.
Among the sessions was the panel "Unlocking Enterprise Value through Data & AI", moderated by journalist Niki Papazoglou. The discussion featured Dr. Denia Kanellopoulou, alongside speakers from Fourlis Group, Accenture, Unisystems, and The American College of Greece.
Dr. Kanellopoulou's contribution spanned all three rounds of the discussion. She opened by addressing what it really means to produce value from data, offering a perspective grounded in research rather than corporate strategy. Later, she explored whether it has become easier for research to connect with real business problems, or whether a gap still remains. In the final round, she turned to the national level: how can Greece generate more value from data, rather than simply consuming it?
